A recent reshuffle of personnel at the top of Ukrainian politics has brought new diplomatic initiatives. Amongst these are efforts to reach out to China and a revised attitude towards Belarus's exiled opposition. 'It is really important for us to maintain relations with representatives of democratic Belarus,' said Ukraine's foreign minister Andrii Sybiha in a recent interview, which followed the first substantive meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. It is this shift in Ukraine-Belarus relations that I focus on in this post.
